About the Book

In The Soul Unsettled, a wide range of human emotions are expressed in three major areas: life, politics and love. I chose life because we have become accustomed to only wanting to see its good side. However, life presents powerful gestalts of success, failure, yearning and accomplishment. Life is teeming with the diversity of joy and heartache. I try to capture in these verses a measure of the complexity of life. Yet, there is no understanding life without considering politics.

About the Author

Jeffrey Dean Swain is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Morehouse College, and he holds a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University and the degree of Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law. He also studied English literature at Atlanta University. He is presently studying for his Ph.D.

He has published three previous works: Black and Still Here, A World of Color and Education in America: A Dilemma in the 21st Century. He is a much sought after speaker and commentator.
