About the Book

A few years ago I was involved in a serious auto accident that left me with a broken neck. Fortunately, I recovered from the injuries, but there was a period of about a year when I was in a great deal of pain. Nights were the worst. They seemed to go on forever. I think at some point everyone has lain awake at night waiting for the light of morning. Maybe it was psychosomatic but it just seemed like the pain lessened once morning came around. I had painkillers, but I was afraid to take them because they were morphine-based, and I knew how easy it would be to become addicted to them.

One especially bad night, while watching the clock as the minutes slowly dragged along, the idea for this book came to me. It started out as science fiction but rapidly changed into a romance story. When I started, I had no idea where I was going with it or if I'd even finish the thing. It was just a way to pass the nights. A world in which I could escape that took me away from the pain for a while. I wrote every night for nearly a year. I enjoyed watching the characters and story develop. When it was finished I tucked the notebooks away in a drawer and just forgot about it. I had started sleeping again and my life was beginning to return to normal. A few months later I came across it again. Some friends and family ended up reading it, they liked it and suggested I get it published. So here it is. It may never sell a single copy but it got me through a particularly difficult period, and for that I will be forever grateful.

If you do purchase a copy I thank you for your support and I hope it provides you with a few hours of entertainment.
