About the Author

Cultivating my writing ability began during grade school, when a wise teacher inadvertently transformed my perspective on how to illustrate a picture with words. I won my first writing contest in third grade and all throughout school and college I repeatedly discovered mentors who urged me to pursue my talent and creative potential. Consequently, I have enjoyed immeasurable benefits resulting from my writing abilities, both personally and professionally.

For the past eleven years I've flourished in the field of fitness, both as a Certified Personal Trainer and a Group Fitness Instructor. However, after a difficult pregnancy left me with an 85 pound weight gain, I found myself having to revisit the accumulated knowledge of my career to develop a plan to lose the excess weight. Once I put together my plan of action, it took only nine months to return to my pre-pregnancy weight. Encouraged with my own results, I shared my program with my sister who had been struggling to lose her baby weight in addition to being overweight. After applying the right lifestyle changes, she now wears a size three. Witnessing her amazing transformation, her husband also began my program and lost more than 30 pounds.

Inspired by these results, I decided to combine my passion for fitness with my passion for writing to help more people achieve overall health and fitness. In the end, I feel I have filtered through the wealth of information available about fitness and simplified it into a program that works: "Real Fitness!"
