About the Author

Jonathan Perry was born and raised in the Midwest (Iowa, Illinois, and Michigan). Eleven of these years were spent in the small town of Ironwood, Michigan, where he still has family. Ironwood is in the west corner of the Upper Peninsula (UP) of Michigan and this means he is part yooper (a slang word to describe people from the UP) and proud of it.

After living in 3 different states and 6 different towns before graduating with a marketing degree from Eastern Illinois University (1990), it seems he has still not stopped moving. To date he has lived in 6 different states, now residing in Warrenton, Virginia, with no plans to move, yet.

Jonathan is also an avid snowboarder and outdoor enthusiast. Since his visit to New Zealand was in the summer and fall he would like to revisit during the winter to enjoy the challenging snowboarding New Zealand has to offer.

His travels abroad have included New Zealand, England, Portugal, Greece, Greek islands, Netherlands, Mexico, Hawaii, and St. Martin (where he helped celebrate his parents' 50th wedding anniversary). This is his first book with no immediate plans for another. Jonathan has future ideas about a snowboard video, a product for market and a restaurant; we will have to wait and see what transpires.
