Depression: A True Story is a collection of timely memories of a first born son, Lawrence, looking back on his father's life and his own. Reminiscing about his childhood memories and lessons learned from his father, he realized how much his caring, but stern father taught him. Many of these lessons proved to be valuable within his adult life and helped h im with his very own trials and tribulations. As you go through lie, you sometimes do not realize the many lessons that are learned throughout. Your childhood is spent playing with friends and family, and learning right from wrong. More often than not, the experiences of childhood and growing up shape your future, as well as, provide insight int what life has in store for you and your family. It is not until you look back at your childhood experiences and memories that you begin to see how they have shaped and strengthened your life. it is these experiences, for the most part, that have proven to be invaluable in helping you become a stronger, more well-rounded individual. You often wonder that if it was not for some of these life experiences how your life would have turned out.

About the Author

"My parents married and have five children within nine years. My mother became ill. Our doctor said it was a nervous breakdown. My mother was no longer able to take care of us. My father had my mother admitted to a state hospital as the doctor suggested. My father realized he had to be both father and mother to five children aged one to nine. Thirty years later I would find myself in similar circumstances.

"Parent to four girls and one boy. Nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. I dedicate this novel to my beloved mother and father."
