About the Book

I NEVER KNEW THAT is not a medical textbook and is not intended to replace the General Practitioner. Hopefully, it will arm those who did not go to medical school with a course of action when confronted with a symptom .

The author has drawn from more than thirty years of personal experience, both in hospital and private practice, to provide answers to an oft repeated comment - “I never knew that” .

Preventative medicine successfully practiced will spell the death knell for the medical, pharmaceutical and most related fields. Who cares enough that the amount of calcium in supplements prescribed to pregnant mothers will hardly suffice for a pregnant cat? Of course, one must eat healthily – but who eats 4 1/2 cups of peanuts in a day to obtain one dose of Vitamin E ? Certain fish are rich in Omega 3 – but is it known that the oil is mainly under the skin and that cooking damages the fish oil? The Inuits (Eskimos) who are free of heart disease eat their fish uncooked. Do we?
