When I look back at some of the things I have been through, sometimes I laugh (because otherwise I might cry) – I rejoice in her antics and the way she perceives the world. In this book, I want to share with you my journey. To allow myself to laugh – at myself for some of the ridiculous things I did to make her “normal” and to laugh with her as I watched her take in the world and try and process it. So, what follows is MY story. But what I hope every reader takes away from this book is that there is the other side of autism. One that we don’t always get to hear because many people with autism cannot verbalize their feelings. I have asked my daughter to add in her story. I have asked her to share what it is like to live with autism and her perceptions of the same events I write about. So now I lead you into one of the most personal journeys of my daughter’s and my life. Autism has two sides, so I hope you laugh, cry, rejoice and never look back….I believe the best is yet to come!

About the Book
Natalie Kulig and her daughter Victoria share their story of life on the autism spectrum: the love, the laughter, the sorrow, the special relationship between a mother and daughter and how they navigated through the early years of autism into adulthood. Included in the book is a section on starting the gluten free/casein free diet.
About the Author
After previously publishing the book, The Simple Way to Start the GF/CF Diet, I realized that much time has passed and new information has come into play. Purchasing and making Gluten Free Casein Free food is not as daunting as it used to be. As I was deciding whether to give this book a facelift, my daughter, Victoria, asked if she could share her story about living with autism and her opinions on the diet. We decided that we should tell our story - about living with autism and the diet. We share our joy, sorrow, laughter, and love as well as some of our favorite recipes. She is now an adult, and I treasure every moment we have shared on this journey and look forward to many more! We hope you enjoy reading about our journey as much as we have enjoyed sharing it.
