Before reading my story you should know that I finally realized that my whole past life was nothing but a total loss without enjoying the happiness of being an ordinary man, with a true land, a decent family, some friends and a true love. I am alone now with only what my mind created not for me but for you -my reader- with the final conclusion that all my actions were and carry on to be wrong. I am feeling that my spirit is lost somewhere with someone but I am unable neither to recognize its appropriate place nor even to see my ideal being. I am now blind though I can see what exists outside my exhausted mind. I am also sick because I am aware of different pains that penetrated my weak body through time and space. I am 75 years old with different fragmented selves torn in different continents with a multiplicity of people and races, yet all I learned through my past life was that the one of us must think a lot before dreaming to move and live anywhere in this globe. What we may think is a possible life outside our native land of love and passion is but a chimera. Action is over at the same time of its birth, the time we decide to start, or even before the time we decide to start because we cannot1 really predict what may happen outside our native land; our sphere of being. Eventually, I discovered that my life has gone in an hour, the hour I wanted to remember, the hour I was ready to start my real truth and what the others may call a wrong life with wrong choices. I am not blaming myself for I feel now free living only on one purpose: to write what my brain urges me to write. I am a writer now despite myself and despite the English male that raped all the universal talents by his story. I am a writer now but not a whole human being for I turned to be a machine fed by only displaced truths scattered in various filthy lands.

About the Book
The novel tells the story of an educated young African male who moved from his homeland by boat in a long terrible voyage to Britain, then Japan, and eventually to the USA with the American dream of a better life in his mind. In every place, he made different experiences, discovering people, languages, and cultures, but in every place he went, he finished up by being alone. In the middle of the story, he fell in love with an English girl and tasted many terrible experiences (different jobs, a prison experience, a famous writer experience). All his experiences end by many failures. He is a selfish man guided only to one truth: his individual talent. It is because of such selfishness that he was lost. He was unable to see the real achievements he started before traveling to Europe—his job, his family, his girl, and everything he gained in his native land in North Africa. He followed his own truth, that of being a man of literature, regardless to the harm he may cause to himself and his North African people.
About the Author
Khaled Hafdhi is an experienced secondary English teacher in Tunisian schools. He was born in 1975 in El-Hamma, Gabes, in the South of Tunisia. He was attracted by English literature since he was a very young student though the Tunisian culture is poor in terms of English books. Tunisia is a francophone country, and English is a third language. Khaled was attracted by English, and after he got his art baccalaureate in 1995, he chose to study English literature and joined the Tunisian faculty of social and human sciences in Tunis. He ended his academic studies by obtaining a maîtrise in the English language and literature. He has started teaching English since the year 2000, but his career as an English writer had started so long before—when he was a student. He began the writing of his first novel, entitled Alone Everywhere, in 1998, and it was achieved in 2013. He is a playwright as well as a poet. He published his play, entitled I Can’t Stand Alone, and his first collection of poems, entitled Orphan Meditations, in 2015.
