About the Author
Emily Preece was born in 1953 in Green Bay Wisconsin. She relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona upon completion of her college degree and medical technology internship studies, working as a laboratory supervisor, and using her free time to pursue learning to fly fixed-wing aircraft; obtaining her private pilot’s license in 1979. Emily continued her involvement with aviation, eventually obtaining her instrument, commercial, multi-engine, and fight instructor certificates. She met Bill Preece while working on these ratings, and they were married in 1986. In time, Emily left the medical field to help Bill develop and manage a growing aviation business at the Scottsdale airport, obtain her Masters degree, and assist with the developement of several successful limited partnerships and real estate ventures in the White Mountains of Arizona. Emily and Bill retired in 1997, and use their two aircraft to fly between their Texas hill country home, and their winter residence in Álamos, Sonora, Mexico. Emily now spends her free time on developing her writing and artistic talents, meditation and yoga, and golf and summer RV travels with Bill and their black labrador retriever, “Gina”.
