About the Book

A young Flemish country kid saw the American and Canadian soldiers chasing the Germans from his village. Then he became successively: a seminarist, a soldier, a travel agent, a woodcutter in Nigeria and Ivory Coast where he met love; a student at the American University in Washington, a Hippy in San Francisco. He also was a student rebel in the Sorbonne and a teacher in Communist Cuba in 1968, from where he was kicked out but got married again for a visa; a traveler from El Paso to Chile, an agrarian reform agent for Allende; a go-between for the Latin revolutionary movements. Then he belonged to the fraternity of Hunters of the once fierce Malinké tribe in Mali. Later on, he became a hedonist without knowing the word; a livestock census project manager in Chad, running for three years after cows and camels all over the Sahel. You’ll also find matters of faith and science; libertinage and religion; Plato, Saint Paul and Epicure; lesbians and imposed celibacy, circumcision and excision; the gregarious bee, the masturbating fish, the epicurean pig and the monogamous elephant…All this is one man and one life, and this book is mainly about you.

About the Author

Jean Pierre Louis Marie Goffings was born on the 23 th of June of the year 1943 in Diets Heur, province of Limburg in the then called country of the United Kingdom of Belgium. He studied at the American University in Washington DC were he almost became a Master of Arts in International Affairs with a specialyzation on Africa. He dispatched conferences and courses at the University of Havana, San Marcos in Peru and University of Chile. Later he on became a consultant for sahelian development and created the "Chadian compagny for livestock valorization" and also two off shore sea farming compagnies, one in the Meditterrannean and one in the Gulf of Mexico. He actualy resides in Mexico
