About the Author

Steve Malone was born in Fort Worth, Texas. He attended public school in Grand Prairie, a Dallas suburb, before attending the University of Texas at Arlington. Motivated by a friend’s challenge, Steve wrote the original manuscript of “The Grip” in 1985. Life events forced “The Grip” to a closet shelf for twenty years until, at the urging of wife, Judi, efforts to complete and publish the novel were resurrected. Steve spends much of his time involved in church construction in North Texas. He is an avid reader, writes whenever possible, and enjoys all sports. Most important in Steve’s life is his wife Judi, his son Chris, and his two grandchildren, Trevor and Whitney. Steve and Judi reside in Grand Prairie.
