About the Book

The book chronicles a period in the lives of three school teachers in Trinidad and Tobago. Two of the young professionals, Christopher Boyz and Khleo Karch were in a romantic relationship of which Khleo’s parents disapproved. The relationship floundered when her former boyfriend was deported from the USA. Khleo allowed him to stay at her place because he would have been homeless otherwise. As a result, she and Christopher parted ways.

Christopher became distraught over the break up and decided to spend that weekend in Tobago. While traveling there, he met Ebita Leah Scott, a former classmate of his at the University of the West Indies. At the same time Amanda, Khleo’s best friend suggested that they get away to Las Cuevas Bay for the weekend.

Eli Ebbs, the deportee was alone at Khleo’s place when Peter Aranguez visited him and learnt that Khleo was out of town. During their conversation he realized that Khleo seldom did anything without Amanda’s knowledge, but together they tended to act without consulting others. Right then he conceived of a plan to stage her kidnapping and extort a large sum of money from her wealthy father.
