About the Book

This story could be happening any time, any where in the world, to anybody. But this story is about two children in India. A happy hard working family suffers the disaster of a large flood and mudslide, in which home and village were destroyed. Miraculously the boy and girl are saved and taken to a shelter in the next big city. They get lost and have to learn to live as street kids. After many days of desperate wandering, sickness and injury, they receive help from some kind people and are able to return to their village, find Grandfather and help with clean up and rebuilding of the homes.

About the Author

Wobine Ishwaran started writing for children after retiring from teaching kindergarten. Born in the Netherlands she lived as a child with her family for several years in South Africa, Indonesia and the Netherlands. During her studies to become a registered nurse, she met her husband, K. Ishwaran, a Ph.D student from India. They were married in India, had two children and then immigrated to Canada, where their third son was born. Wobine lives in Toronto and has published with Author House in U.S., and Trafford Publishing in Vancouver. She loves to read, write and has traveled several times back to India. This story, about two courageous children, is very close to her heart.
