About the Book
Backstage Passes chronicles the unique, unusual and oft-times humorous stories of Frank Lynch, who spent many years in the entertainment business. Actually the stories are not about the author himself but the famous people and events that he happened to work with or at. The author takes you backstage as if you yourself had a backstage pass to see what really goes on behind the scenes. Read about the famous and not-so famous as they perform and entertain the masses. From Elvis Presley to Michael Jackson, learn at how being famous can be a burden. Read and laugh at the antics of the eccentric ”Pied Piper of the Jet Set” Hugh Shannon and run away with the circus for a day and it’s biggest star the late animal trainer Gunther Gabel-Williams. The author’s experiences span four decades and run from James Brown and Elvis to Motley Crue, to the world of professional wrestling and even organ grinding monkeys . Each chapter is a separate story about a celebrity or event in and of itself and the book can be read from start to finish or by the reader’s individual interest in certain celebrities. Either way this is a great fun read of what happens backstage, behind the curtain and you have an all access pass!
About the Author
Frank Lynch was born in the tiny hamlet of Quiogue, NY on the eastern end of Long Island. Growing up he always looked forward to trips to places like Freedomland, Palisades Amusement Park, Chico’s Monkey Farm and the circuses that visited the area including Ringling Brothers, the Royal Wild West and the Clyde Beatty-Cole Brothers shows. In later years, the author became involved in concert operations, exotic animal training, age and weight guessing, flea circuses and tourist attraction management. He also married his now long suffering but understanding wife Barbara and helped raise his two talented and beautiful daughters Shannon and Diana. Settling in Central Florida, and following in P.T. Barnum’s legacy, the experiences the author has had as an American showman are unmatchable. And with a new show about to begin, Professor Marvel’s Super Circus Sideshow, there will be more stories yet to come.
