The objective of this book To Set The Record Straight is to retrace the history of the island nationof Haiti from discovery and beyond its invasion on July 28, 1915. Also, it is in part the history of Haiti's norther neighbor the United States of America. The book will try to explain the many historical events that have happened at different times in the national political life of both countries. The Republic of Haiti and The United States of America, the first two independent republics of the Western Hemisphere, two nations two people two different races. One white the United States of America, the other black the republic of Haiti. The United States of America became the first independent nation of the Western Hemisphere in 1776. Haiti in 1804 became the first black republic of the world, born of the only successful slaves revolt.


About the Author

Max Laudun was born in the city of Cap Haitien. Raised and educated in his country of origin. Moved to the United States of America in 1952. Became a United States citizen in 1968. Became involved in the many aspects of his new country, social and political affairs. Max moved from New York City to Florida where he retired in 1986. During his retirement he contributed to many local volunteer organizations and wrote many articles for the St. Petersburg Times. â*œTo Set The Record Straightâ** is his only book.
