My Own Reflections II, is my expressions of life. The poems are warm and human. I think they reveal a gentle and congenial person. I hope you enjoy them.

About the Author

Peter Vallas has been in the fire service since 1961, rising from firefighter to Captain and then Fire Marshal. President Jimmy Carter commended Peter in 1977, for having saved thirty-seven lives during his career. His present record is over forty-two lives saved to date and is one of the most decorated firefighters in The United States. In 1982, Peter received "The American Character Award" in Washington, D.C., at a ceremony in The Russell Senate Office Building at the Caucus Room. He was given a reception of honor. It was attended by many elected officials, as well as Representatives of the Military and Diplomatic Corps. In attendance were Honorable Strom Thurmond, President Pro Tem of the U.S. Senate and Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Mr. Rand Araskog, Chairman and President of IT&T, and Doctor Norman Vincent Peale. Peter is also an accomplished actor and a member of The Screen Actors Guild.
