About the Book
Based on actual events, Oscar the Great is the charming story of an orphaned squirrel who is found by a young boy and taken to live with the boy’s family. As Oscar grows, so does his curiosity, which leads him into mischief, adventures and close calls. His escapades earn him his own protective palace, where he lives the rest of his days royally, safe from his own misadventures.
About the Author
Mary Hayman Lewis was born in her home in Plants, Ohio in 1929, the third child of William Hayman and Marie Sayre. After graduating valedictorian from high school she attended business school in Columbus, Ohio and later met her future husband Bill. After his service in the Air Force, she moved to her husband’s native Texas, where they raised three sons, Gregg, Jeff, and Paul. In Texas, her entire career was spent in the oil business, where writing was a part of her daily job. She was known for her creative stories, which were always based on her life’s experiences.
