About the Book

The Horus Quest by William Shambrook. This is the first episode in the trilogy of adventures concerning the quest of a man who is driven by something spiritual outside of himself to find the answers involving his survival and purpose. He is not a hero, but a human, with the faults and aspirations we all share. It is a work of fiction set in Egypt concerning the true feelings and emotions of an individual that the readers will be able to identify for themselves as having experienced. It involves many questions and the race to solve them. It seeks to provide a possible answer to our many needs requiring explanation and reassurance for the existence of a greater power. It is based upon the majesty of Ancient Egyptian History and the myriad of Gods who formed the beliefs of a lost civilisation. The book examines faith and how the subject Francis Edwards unravels his own soul as he travels through a nightmare experience that takes him to the edge of death and the peak of love. It is the story of a treasure and the ending is a bombshell. It tells of mystery and deceit, of hate and history, of life and death. It involves detail and suspense woven around real places with a hint of humour and invites the reader to participate in the search for the truth. It will keep you guessing right up to the end; and yet, you will not want it to finish. I repeat it is a work of fiction. Yet all that live within its pages are realistic people, some actually exist and you might have fun guessing who they are in real life; for they are based upon persons the author has had the pleasure of knowing. The locations are real and known to the author. The details you would be able to find and experience for yourself. You only have to use your imagination to be there as the story unfolds. Just pray that it is just a story and not a prophecy.

About the Author

William Shambrook has travelled extensively and has spent time in India, Mexico, Egypt and many Middle-Eastern countries. Whilst not a Religious person, he has a passion for the hidden truths behind the intense spiritual background of Egypt and Israel that has existed there since the dawn of time. It is that powerful part of the history of man and his many religions that still leaves its mark in the cauldron of powerful emotions and loyalties which ferments all over the region. He is convinced that man once met his God somewhere there and still seeks to find him again. Having been brought up as a Catholic in a post- WWII Britain, he has seen changes that he feels have made mankind lose its Religious and Moral values. The changes to fairness and the loss of spiritual justice for the common man due to Globalisation and corrupt politics worry him. He says " I am old fashioned regarding honour and integrity, for, I believe that your honour forms the carapace of your soul and that it should be beyond price. I will never yield to anything that removes my faith in myself. Or what I perceive to be God " He believes that millions of people also are like him. Lost souls looking for that elusive answer. Decent people who feel out of place in the world of today. William is married and lives in Hampshire England. He has three daughters and six grandchildren.
