I’m so tired of fighting with everything, with the others, with the world, with myself. Life weighs down on me… I weigh myself down. What am I doing here? This isn’t my place. I feel awful, upset, surrounded by so many people… and so alone. I’m falling asleep. I feel like vomiting and I’m dizzy. The loudspeakers shake every cell in my body. What a scene! A fantastic party. Mixing so many shitty drinks has left me feeling terrible. I’m sad, unfortunate. My self-esteem is very low. Staying with the group isn’t doing me any good. I should have left them a long time ago. When I met them I was attracted to their dynamics, their careless manners, their cheerful, happy, uninhibited ways… Gusts of wind whirl my hair, violently shaking my clothes. I feel a skirt touching my legs, instead of my jeans. I’m afraid to open my eyes. Here I go. Wow, there are so many people! The raised area is entirely occupied by a great crowd! Why are they looking at me? What do they want from me? They’re sitting on the ground, looking at me expectantly, fervently silent. The view has also changed. The bushes have disappeared and everything looks well cared for.

On “The Rock of the Past” she discovers one of her past lives. The memories of another time reveal part of the script that she wrote before arriving to Earth. She discovers that she’s not the pebble she thought she was, but that she’s actually a diamond, a Divine Glow, which the Universe has placed within her heart. The prodigies continue. The three from the past jump in time and they find each other again in the present. At the end she discovers where her sorrows were born, which fade away with her tears. The weeper turns into a goldfinch… her butterfly breaks through the cocoon and emerges from her heart, and she discovers, surprised, that she has wings, that she can open them up and fly.
About the Author
Barro’s restlessness has pushed him to professional changes: architecture, painting, murals, sculpture, literature… His self-taught training and his creative diversity makes it difficult to label his different projects. He enjoys exploring the digital world, which is so full of creative resources. He’s written this novel as if he was creating a painting or making a collage. He doesn’t worry a lot about literary rules and styles… because he doesn’t know them. He’s more comfortable inventing them, letting his heart flow. It’s an excellent source of inspiration, with his own style, which wisely guides him, unless his mind begins to intervene too much. It’s easier for him to locate the accent with feelings, laughter and tears rather than literary styles. He uses simple language, without slang, without geographical locations. That way his message is more universal, facilitating the reader’s identification with the story.
