About the Author

Elyse Banks Workman, born in Australia and raised in Hong Kong, has always had a passion for literature. Focusing primarily on poetry in her earlier years, she has finally found the time to create her first children’s fiction, The Extraordinary Life of Mr. Toddle And His Talking Pets. Elyse is married to David and together they have three extraordinary pets of their own. Elyse is currently working on a sequel to “Mr. Toddle” as well as a compilation of her poems and a very different concept of a cooking/recipe book. Interestingly Elyse is related a much loved Australian Author, George Henry Johnston O.B.E,1912-1970. Winner of several Miles Franklin awards and most praised for his novels My brother Jack and Clean straw for nothing. These acclaimed Australian classics have inspired and educated millions of readers. Mr. Johnston was Elyse’s grandfathers’ first cousin.
