About the Author
Niece of Pearl Harbor, World War II Hero,
Doris Miller (called Dorie, in the U.S. Navy),
and grand daughter of Mrs. Henrietta Miller
and Mr. Conery Miller, was born in Waco,
Texas, in 1955; to Mr. Selvia Miller, and Mrs.
Irene Miller. After graduating from Robert
E. Lee High School in 1973, and attending
Midland College in Midland, Texas, she later
became a certified Nurse’s Aide at Odessa
College, in Odessa, Texas, in 1985.
The mother of five children (Leroy Ellis III,
Shanna Shaneke Miller, Taya Shante Miller,
Shamon Deondre Miller, and Malcolm Jamal
Miller), Vickie Gail Miller has also written
musical compositions, is the inventor of “WORLD WAR II DORIS MILLER
ACTION FIGURE DOLL,” “FOOTSTEPS TO KNOWLEDGE GAME,” and in
“2002” and years beyond, have been profiled in “Marquis Who’s Who in America,”
biography directory (the leading biographical reference publisher of the highest
achievers and contributors from across the country, and around the world).
