About the Book
2000 years later she is still a mystery! Revered in Catholic Churches worldwide, in the story she travels across Asia Minor from Nazareth to Jerusalem to Euphesus, Turkey.
Born mute, Ruth grew up next door to Jesus, loving him and being loved as they developed in the beautiful Jordan countryside. She was a shepherdess, talented weaver and skilled at dyeing and embroidery. He tried to be a carpenter but disappointed his father and frustrated the man he loved above any other by testing over and over with theological questions that he could not answer. Then he would be sent to Ruth to check on the sheep.
Denied marriage because of her impediment, Ruth was less than worthless in that Jewish society. She fought off a Roman Centurion bent on raping her and traders who wanted her body as much as her goods. She was well prepared for the tumoultuous life that lay ahead!
Her sheep loved her; her family loved her and He loved her. That would have to do. For now...
About the Author
I am 63, married to Jerome and we have four children, Andy, Susan, Patti and Steven. We have four grandchildren, Hailey, Jacob, Randy and Caitlin. They are talented kids and I hope they will develop their talents to the fullest. About 25 years ago I was struck with rheumatoid arthritis. Thank God for friends with good hands and technology that allows me to dictate to my computer. I'm still learning and still viable!
I have written poetry, short stories, magazine articles, newspaper columns and newsstories. My teachers encouraged my writing and I can remember wanting to be a published Canadian author (not an easy goal!). I achieved that with Half a Loaf and now I present Ruth to you. This heroine has dogged me for thirty years demanding that her story be told. I hope you enjoy it.
