About the Book
All the books written on Céline so far were biographies, with more or less reliable facts to support the life story of that mega-star. No book has really achieved to be precise, factual and reliable (except the English biography I contributed to correct).
No book can be used as an ultimate reference tool for the facts around one of the most extraordinary careers in the show business history. No book can be picked up by a fan or a reporter on a deadline and serve as the reference for all the achievements of "la p'tite québécoise".
That's the objective of that book I'm proposing. I want to create a book that will be able to serve as a reference and tool with confidence that the facts are reliable.
- A book for the average fan to get fully impressed by the achievements of Céline
- A book for the die-hard fan to check up and improve his knowledge on Céline facts
- A book for the collector to check out how to improve his collection with reliable reference numbers
- A book for the journalist in need of a unique and reliable source for his work
- A book for music professionals to do serious research work
- A book for record sellers to better evaluate the value of different items
- A book for the Awards fan to compare Céline distinctions with other artists
- A book like no one else has done for any artist.
- The concept seems to be ambitious, and when you see the page count, you'll think it's impossible to do... yet I have more than half of it already done and ready to publish.
About the page count... who would consider seriously a "reference" book that is a hundred pages thick? Céline had a very rich career of 21 years, she started from nothing and ended as being #1 in two languages at the same time around the world. That cannot be related and expressed completely in a small book, at least certainly not with the factual reference it has.

About the Author
I'm Sylvain Beauregard, I'm a 34-year-old Internet specialist and holder of a bachelor's degree from Laval University in Computer Science.
I'm well known as one of the best experts in the world on Céline Dion. I was born two days before Céline, and I grew up with her music, as every other Quebecer. Yes, I'm from Montréal, in Céline's home province of Quebec, and I speak French as my native language too. That gives me access to TONS of information on Céline, both in writing and in electronic medias, in both French and English.
More than six years ago, I started a Web site called Passion Céline Dion. Ever since its beginning, it was considered as the best Web site on Céline, and it's by far the most visited fan site, with almost 2 million visitors so far. In addition to receiving very good press coverage (from full pages in papers here to references on radio all around the world), my web site earned many distinctions, including:
- Top 5% of all music web sites
- Famous Lycos Top 5% awards (the ONLY Céline site with that distinction)
That helped me make contacts all around this little rock named Earth. I've been known through my web site and was asked to contribute to many medias, including:
- Sony Music France themselves asked for my expertise to revise their biography section on the first version of their Web site in 1996.
- VH-1 called for my help for their VH-1 Artist of the Year Special in January 1996.
- I contributed to an in-depth article in the famous British Record Collector magazine
- I contributed to many European radio stations for specials, including BEL-RTL (Belgium) and Radio France International.
- France 2 interviewed me for their 90-min special on Céline, Spring 1999, was the only non official to be part of the report.
- I was contacted by Dundurn Press to correct the errors in the official (authorized) biography on Céline when it was translated from French to English.
- I was quoted in the Billboard Magazine of January 15, 2000 (US Edition) about my comments on the break taken by Céline.
