Archie Thompson is Peter's close friend who made a fortune selling war surplus material. Then something happened that not only changed his life, but the lives of many other people, including Peter himself.

The almost unknown village of Little Beddow became the center of international intrigue. Archie blames himself for the unforeseen chaos created by what he described as "His one and only big mistake."
