About the Book

Walter Davis and family have moved to Hartland, Georgia, which is just outside of Savannah, because Walter's job has required him to be transferred to the main office in Savannah. Once settled in Hartland they purchase the home that they have been renting.

The family soon discovers why the price was so low. Their new home is haunted by an antebellum lady whose family had built this house before the Civil War broke out. There seems to be a deep dark secret that surrounds why this spirit is still earthbound. Whenever the cloud of blue mist appears, the spirit either takes form out of the cloud or remains in mist form and fades away without anything happening. The spirit causes all kinds of events' to take place trying to gain the families' attentions to help her so that she can finally be at peace. As time passes, the spirit begins to appear in daylight, along with other spirits, without being surrounded by the cloud of blue mist.

Mabel, Sally and Jane, the local voodoo priestess, who already knows why the spirit is still earthbound but is reluctant to share this information, slowly begin to unravel the mysteries that surround why Mary Ellen is still earthbound and seeking their help.

Once the mystery is solved, a ceremony is performed by Jane at midnight on the night of the next full moon to bring peace to Mary Ellen so she can travel to the other side of the veil.
