About the Book
Triumph and Terror: Revelation Ð the Truth for End Times is a Study Guide appropriate as a resource for Christians of all denominations. The goal of the Study is to strengthen readersÕ faith and understanding, as well as to challenge and stimulate the thinking of all who seek. It aims to provide a straightforward, uncomplicated narration of our LordÕs glorious Revelation.
The writing of Triumph and Terror... is presented in a chapter-by-chapter commentary dealing concisely with each and every verse. Comments critical to the readerÕs understanding are carefully supported by and referenced to scripture; moreover, to simplify the reading for young Christians and impatient seekers, quite often the referred scripture is quoted. Seldom does the manuscript allow supposition.
The Study is strengthened and enhanced by the inclusion of ten teaching appendices, a ten-page glossary of terms and a brief synopsis at the beginning of each chapter. The approach is intentionally direct and the language written simply so that it is appropriate for the lay reader. Prayerfully, the writer has attempted to coherently unravel the mysteries of the Revelation and clearly present the ideas and themes that are complex and interwoven.
The simplicity of the Study responds to a pressing need in both the Christian and secular world: never before has there been such urgent seeking for answers as to what the future holds for humankind. In some instances, the Study confirms currently accepted theological ideology; however, in other areas it opens discussions never before pursued. It carefully documents, through scripture and historical records, the answers to questions that are as old as Daniel, while opening insight into passages which have generally been avoided by most scholars. Through consistent use of scripture, it informs and challenges teachings that have hitherto been unchallenged.
About the Author
Jean Staudinger was born in 1924 in Red Deer, Alberta, and was raised and educated in the nearby town of Sylvan Lake. Of her manuscript, Triumph and Terror..., Jean writes: "I willingly recognize that I am a ÔfishermanÕ, not a theologian; nevertheless, I am able to claim the Holy Spirit as my teacher. He is my source of information, my sole credential... Notwithstanding my own lack of academic/publishing credentials, the manuscript has been professionally edited by my daughter who is a published author and who has a Masters degree in English Literature."
Since becoming a Christian over fifty years ago, Jean has been an ardent student of the scriptures. In latter years, she has been privileged to act as consultant, friend and encourager to pastors and their wives. She has taught adult study groups, mentored young Christians, and has visited the incarcerated. For years Jean served as Superintendent and teacher of Sunday School. She also has had over thirty years experience as a Christian teacher promoting Christian care as Director of Aslan and Narnia Day Care Centres. Through her endeavors, a network of Christian Centres were established in Southern Alberta. Upon retirement, her work received recognition and praise from the Alberta Provincial Government and Federal Government of Canada.
Jean says, "Though lacking in formal training, I excel in practical experience. Many years in submission and service to Jesus Christ have deeply etched my understanding." Jean retired in 1989 to a small ranch in the Crowsnest Pass where she took great joy in riding her Tennessee Walkers with her friends and family. She currently lives on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada.
