About the Book

Split Connection is a collection of thoughts, poems, and short stories. It deals with the different aspects of saying goodbye. Touching on several topics, such as: child abuse, domestic abuse, growing old, abortion, suicide, broken marriages, alcoholism, poverty, animal rights, loss of a parent, failed friendships, deception, realization, first love, and the prejudice. It also entails a bit of eyebrow-raising goodbye-humor to help keep the book in balance. Beginning with "Henrietta, the high-strung woman..." to "Walnut Bell, the hillbilly raindancer..." and last but not least, the mental farm escapee, Bitsy Mae.

The refusal of "the world" to acknowledge the abuse of one innocent child allows a preventable circumstance to escalate to tragedy, in "Who's to Blame?" Three children face another sleepless night as they watch their drunken father beat their mother, a sad reality, in "Wanda Burloo." A man sits alone, grieving in a cold and empty bedroom, after the passing of his wife of 50 years, the love of his life, in "Roselee." A woman, still after many years, cannot forgive herself for making the irreversible choice to abort her child, in "A Precious Life."

Split Connection is a book, which anyone and everyone might relate. There are a lot of profound truths woven into the text of this book from start to finish. Some of the readers have found a poem to make them laugh and another to make them cry. Some of the thoughts, poems, and short stories are written based on the author's real life experiences. Some have fictional characters, created to shed light on the serious issues that face our world today. Some are an invitation to test one's patience, concerns, and/or sense of humor. All in all...it's about life.

About the Author

Here behind book number one, is David Wayne Tinch, a 36 year old survivor of a hand-full of half-baked relationships. A misunderstood man, who is destined to write his heart out, while dreaming about the could-have-beens. Sitting strapped-down tight in the front seat of a fast-moving roller-coaster called "the ride of your life," he ponders the thought: "While a normal person in an abnormal world is abnormal, and abnormal person in an abnormal world is normal." that thought evolves, moment to moment, leaping back and forth from his right brain to his left brain. It's all happening in the head of the man who still lives, but a hop and a crawl away from the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.
