About the Book

Dedicated and enthusiastic reporter Anne Glanden longs for the news story to propel her freelance career and facilitate a move from her beat in lower Delaware. The local murder trial of Grace Sharpton, accused of killing and dismembering her husband of thirty years, promises to become Anne's stepping stone. As the murder trial fizzles, Anne's heart becomes entangled with Air Force Lieutenant Trey Jordan, who is stationed at the local base nearby and happens to be dating her roommate.

Trey grapples with his own conflicts and commitments - the escalation of military deployment in the Middle East, a possessive girlfriend, a manipulative mother, a demanding family - but his interest and attraction to Anne is undeniable.

Just when their relationship seems promising, Anne collides with her heart. The key to solving the murder becomes the key to the future for Anne and Trey. But getting together is only the beginning of the journey.

Landing Home pinpoints the pitfalls of beginning, developing and sustaining a relationship in today's uncertain world. It's the heartbreak and fun of falling in love until we finally find that place called home.

About the Author

"Life is a journey, not a destination," most aptly describes the author's trek through life. Almost sixteen years ago, when leaving her copy desk editor job at the local newspaper to be home with her sons, Brandon and Sean, Sue dipped her pen into the author's inkwell with nominal response to her first novels. After rearing the boys through PTA and Little League, divorce and many job changes, the winding course of life experiences led to the germination of a story idea that grew and flourished in light of current events in her local Delaware area.

"I had no intention of writing a novel," Sue says. But the writing muse cam e in the summer of 2002 and compelled her to reprise an old idea in the back of her mind and follow the story to fruition. Co-workers at Verizon in Denver, Pam Gruwell and Phylis Ferguson, gave encouragement and inspiration to keep at the task through the summer. And Trafford Publishing provided the vehicle to realize a life-long dream ­ to publish a novel.

Lt. Trey Jordan and his friend Sgt. Nick (Bubba) Campbell are a tribute to the many Air Force personnnel leaving family to serve at Dover Air Force Base. After the September 11th attacks, the airbase has worked tirelessly to provide the life's blood of military supplies to the Middle East. The Air Force helicopters flew for days and days to and from Dover to the Pentagon disaster sight in D.C. right past her home, a gruesome reminder of our changed world.

These days the author keeps busy working in her home upholstery shop, spending time with her teenaged sons, playing softball and volleyball with family and friends on Sunday and working full-time at Verizon in Dover, Delaware.
