About the Book
1777
The Colonials took seventy thousand gold guineas from the British and Hessians at the Battle of Saratoga. Gentleman Johnny Burgoyne and the gold were escorted along the Knox Trail to Boston by a contingent of continentals including local farmer Jedediah Simpson: former highwayman and convert to the New Light. Gentleman Johnny reached Boston. The gold did not. Jedediah Simpson disappeared. Was the New Light overwhelmed by the radiance of gold?
2002
Local legend and historian Tom Simpson always believed his ancestor stole the gold. How much was seventy thousand gold guineas worth? Sam Healy and Arletta Cole were afraid the answer was one good friend. But Sam and Arletta had to know if Tom Simpson found the gold before the murderer found him. So they became detectives, historians and treasure hunters, and one thing more: suspects in Tom's murder.
About the Author
Sky King was born in Springfield, Massachusetts to a Ford Dealer and a great local beauty. He spent his early life being showered with things and spoiled by two older sisters. He became a completely self-centered brat quite early and blossomed into a wise acre extraordinaire. The death of his father and the seventies knocked the stuffing out of him and he spent several years on a couch watching Star Trek and Gilligan's Island.
After a while, in the pit of disco despair, he straightened up, started to take care of himself and found a job with the handicapped, with whom he spiritually resonated. Finally he found a female strong enough to take him on and help him heal portions of his insanity.
Sky is still nuts in a nearly normal kind of way, but has managed to write seven novels and become the father to a beautiful daughter. He has love in his life and possibilities opening like fans.
You never know. It could happen to you.
