About the Book
"An edgy intensity driven by a relentless intelligence that refuses to look away or ignore the real world. The range and depth of his emotional insight is unnerving. These are densely packed short journeys into the conflict and complexity of what it means to be human. The powerful deft imagery is drawn from a truly unique creative voice. Highly recommended!" Review from Gilda Kelsey, Univ. of Delaware
Steve writes about the fear and the wonder of being human; the fear because we realize we may be wasting our lives and will eventually die; the wonder because we have at least the capability to love. A central premise of his writing is that a moment of honesty is worth a lifetime of lies. Each poem has a refreshingly sparse, direct-to-the-point character... edgy cutting verse: with complex twisting word crafting, balanced by a deceptive simplicity that begs rereading.

In addition to writing poetry and fiction, Steve enjoys sculpting and oil painting. "I am seeking outlets to express my awareness of the experience of life, and of my search for meaning and value within it. Every moment of life is filled with risk, but I am slowly learning to smile and greet the next moment with my arms wide open."
