Success? He had it, but it wasn't satisfying him. His family was secure and could get along without him. His son could handle the business. His secretary asked Bill to provide her son with some guidance. Her son lead "Old Bill" into an adventuresome cruise on a motorcycle. Lots of action and even some romance. Bill was a widower. The secretaries son proved to be a real man of action.
About the Author
W.M. (Bill) McDowell, a WWII Vet. USN Aviation Radioman Third Class, has a B.S. Degree in Aeronautical Engineering. Retired after 35 years at a major aircraft manufacturer, working in all facets of aircraft design, test and production. That career culminated in program management of supersonic jet fighters.
He is an associate fellow of the Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), a senior life member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), and a Registered Professional Engineer.
On the side:
As a teenager, Bill McDowell, was a recreational cowboy, learning about farm life, horses, and other animals. He was an aspiring race car driver, designer, and builder. He found time to play college level football, box, and get a private pilot's license.
During the year 2000, he published a series of notes on the Internet, a church site, www.warp.net as Uncle Bill's Corner. They covered some experiences of family and friends.
