About the Book
The story is about brothers Ed and John growing up with their dog and pony on the campus of Berry Schools, now Berry College, in the hills of North Georgia and their relationships with students and staff.
The campus is one of the largest campuses in the world, which leads to many funny and interesting experiences.
Their Military Service during W.W.II. Back together after the war they both marry and finish their college education at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia.
About the Author
In the spring of 1949, Ol' Ed and John graduated from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. Their Mom and Dad were delighted and their wives, Mary Ann and Betty were relieved and somewhat surprised.
Ol' Ed was very successful in the insurance business and in the building material and hardware industry.
John had many administrative and management positions with the American National Red Cross working in Germany, France and in many major disasters, including the Cuban Missile Crisis.
For five years, while with the American National Red Cross, John was loaned under contract to the Federal Government Defense Department's Civil Preparedness Agency as a Consultant on Human Resources, Emergency Planning and Execution.
It was while in this capacity that John was manager of the Estes Park Relief Center and Coordinator of all Federal relief efforts directed towards victims of the Estes Park Colorado Big Thompson Canyon Flood.
Retiring from the American National Red Cross after 27 years, John became the Superintendent of the same children's home his Father had been superintendent of in Macon, Georgia. John served in this capacity for 8 years before retiring for the second time.
John now lives in a cabin in the mountains of North Georgia.
