About the Book

The book will take you through a wide range of emotions and happenings. It will take you through the Canadian Prison system, through the skid rows of New York, Toronto, Vancouver, Los Angeles, and other cities in both the US and Canada.

Although it is graphic at times it is an accurate picture of the trauma that such molestation at such an early age can cause and interfere with emotional, mental and Spiritual growth.

You get a look inside the walls of the Ontario Mental Hospital at Penetanguishene and the controversial programs existent at that time. It then takes you through the process of recovery.

About the Author

Joseph L. Normandin, RPC was born in Ottawa in 1939. His parents separated at an early age. His aging grandmother raised him until she passed away in 1950.

He was first molested at the age of five and raped at the age of nine. This left him with a deep sense of poor self-worth, insecurity, fear, and anger that he could not resolve.

At the age of nineteen he met a man who also wanted to molest him and in a drunken rage he took that man's life. He gave himself up and received a life sentence for manslaughter. He spent a total of 23 years behind the bars of Federal Institutions.

Joe lives with his wife and three children who are at home (two not at home) on a beautiful, tranquil farm setting. Authors statement: This is my "Write of Passage." I hope and pray that I may continue the recovery/learning process and that I will contribute rather than take away from my community.

Change is a RIGHT that the Creator gives us. I hope and pray that I will never again hurt another human being.
