Those accepted were not guaranteed to pass. Few graduated, only to face the reality of war.

Southeast Asia was the battlefield of many consequences. Survival meant other sacrifices as well as team spirit. Seven young Warrant Officer Candidates managed to graduate only to find themselves in the perils of war not of their choosing but because of their love of flying.

About the Author

Nicholas Vega, Sr. is a Chief Warrent Officer (retired). he graduated from helicopter flight training in December 1968. He then went to Vietnam for a year's tour. Vega was assigned to duty in Arizona with temporary duty in Iran.
