It wasn't the obvious that had made me so unhappy, but a desire to find the real Beverley dwelling inside. The little girl underneath the facade who hadn't really grown up. I wasn't the woman who yelled at her children like a fishmonger at an outdoor market, nor the mother who threatened them with a wooden spoon if they misbehaved. Nor the wife who had little confidence in herself, and was afraid of doing something wrong before her husband. I truly believed that somewhere within, a gentle and loving soul was hiding. I had to take courage and find her out, even though it would change this family forever.
