About the Book

In "Morning Has Broken," Jean Wells takes a fond look back at life on a prairie farm. Her brother, Allen Rollins Wells, has drawn sketches that enhance the stories.

Like thousands of others, their father, Egbert Wells, settled as a teenage homesteader in Alberta, before the province was born. He married Isabella Rollins, an Ontario/Alberta school teacher.

They raised four children, each of them combining for a time the interests of farming and teaching.

The recollections in the book bring back, to those who lived them, moments that made up the lives of everyone who once lived on a farm. And they will help their descendants know, with joy, what early life was like.

About the Author

During her career as a Business Education teacher in Lethbridge, Ryley, Medicine Hat and Edmonton, Jean Wells wrote articles related to her chosen profession.

Retirement has given her time to write of her life-long interest- Canada, and especially of the settlement and develoment of the West.

Some of her writing on these topics has been published in the "Edmonton Journal." She also spent several years as a member of the Strathcona Stroll of Poets.
