About the Book

This book is a legacy. It was written in memory and tribute to an amazing woman. Her name was Jan. She died just fifteen days short of her fiftieth birthday. Far too young. This book is a copulative work of Jan's feelings, fears and perspective on life, leaving and death. And my emotion as I shared her final days.

Not many of us have been spared the brushing of cancer in our lives, either personally or in the loss of a friend or family member. And certainly we have all suffered the loss of a loved one and finding our way back to the path of life after such loss. Through conversations chronicled here in a free style poetry form, you will, I hope, come to a new understanding of facing our own mortality and the importance of "Walking with a friend, to the end of the Road." A life changing experience I can assure you. I hope you enjoy the walk you take with Jan and I and I believe you will come away feeling emotions as never before. Enjoy the journey...

About the Author

Karen Pincott, the author, lives in Amherstview, Ontario. On writing, she says, "I write as a form of expression. I write to share thoughts, emotions, and perspectives. In this case I have written to be a voice for one who is gone. Her beauty, strength and grace are found among the pages of this book. Her wisdom and insight await you. I am privileged to have known her and call her my friend. My words mixed with Jan's feelings have come together in a format I am very proud of. Through the support of my family and the never ending love of my friends I can share with you one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Writing has been a part of my life for many years, no need to get specific. Suffice to say I have reached the point in life whereby I know the value of Love, Laughter and making the most of each moment we have."

Cindy Cartsesen, the illustrator, lives in Kingston, Ontario with her husband Steve and cat Squeak. Her days are filled the rush of working fulltime in a retail outlet and finding time to pursue her other interests. Cindy has a diploma in visual and creative arts and fine arts. As well as photography she paints in oils and acrylics. Often her photos find their way to a canvas and are transformed to a new format. She also works in other mediums on unique craft projects. Her latest endeavor is working on a novel. Not one to sit and watch the world go by Cindy enjoys life and the experiences it offers. She reaches out with both hands to embrace life and make it memorable. Her collaboration with Karen on this book is I predict only the beginning of what they will accomplish together.
