About the Author

Andrea Bargsley Vincent grew up in a fairly small suburb of Dallas, in Texas, where her imagination grew wild amid the wall-to-wall books of her mother's library. Mrs. Vincent divides her time between studying gerontology and creating ways to help children become more comfortable and compassionate about the elderly. Her ultimate goal is to create positive relationships between the world's youth and senior citizens, either collectively through intergenerational programs or in separate capacities. She believes this relationship to be fundamental in the world for facing its largest elderly population ever. Mrs. Vincent's first publication was a children's book was published in 1994 by Coming of Age Press in Austin, Texas, under her maiden name, Andrea Bargsley. Upon publishing her first book, Walk This Way, she toured many schools as speaker, author, and instructor to introduce creative writing techniques to children and adults of all ages. Walk This Way is a picture book that was illustrated by a well-established author and illustrator, Trevor Romain. It is the story of two young girls who create a make-believe world on the sidewalk between their houses. By using their imaginations they can walk home at night in front of a frightening neighbor's house without fear of the dark.
