About the Book
This book is about a peacock that lived on a plantation in Half-Way Tree on the island of St. Kitts. The peacock is extremely vain and insults all of the animals on the plantation. It is the Monkey who gives the peacock his come-uppance! This book is geared for children 5-9 years of age and contains illustrations of the peacock and the rest of the animals that live on the plantation.
About the Author
Joyce Richardson-Melech is currently a public school music teacher. She has been included in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in American Education. She has received the prestigious Award for Excellence in Teaching from the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra in 2000, 2001, and 2003. She has also contributed lesson plans published in the Teachers’ Resource Book, which is published by the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Carolyn Richardson Durham is Professor of Foreign Languages and Chair of the Department of Languages at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University at Greensboro, North Carolina. She has been included in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, and is especially interested in literature of the Caribbean. Dr. Durham is the mother of two daughters and is Joyce’s sister.
