About the Book
One never knows what life will deal to them. Throughout our lives, my family and I have had to deal with uncertainty. Starting with the premature birth of our first born son. The uncertainty of whether he would be strong enough to survive. To be told only three months later that he had genetic inherited disease called Cystic Fibrosis as well as double pneumonia. Leaving us, his parents, with the question, "How much time do we have with our son?" It was through my son's life that I found I had an inner strength within myself I never realized I'd had.
This inner strength is what carried my family and I through after the birth of our daughter. To be told she did not have Cystic Fibrosis at birth to learn eighteen months later that she did. We thought we had control of the CF until CF began showing us it was in control. We fought CF with IV antibiotics, hospitalizations, home CPT treatments, oral and aerosol antibiotics, night tube feedings and home oxygen. When it looked like CF was going to win, we took the last option given to us to fight the CF, a double lung transplant.
