About the Book
The Taman Health Plan book gives an in depth look at the problems that Health Care is facing now, the problems patients, doctors and institutions are facing, mainly caused by either the legal system (and some corrupt lawyers!), the HMOs, and the pharmaceutical companies. Medical Insurance premiums are so out of control that more and more Americans are without insurance. Some patients are not getting the tests and medications they need, because the HMOs refuse to pay. Doctors and nurses are leaving the practice. Hospitals and Nursing homes are faced with defecits and to stay open they are forcing doctors and nurses to work long hours to the point of exhaustion.
The second part of the book is dedicated to solving this problem. The book extensively lays out the plan that would save not only the Medicare System but would make healthcare available to every American. All the ills can be cured with a simple health credit card to be used like a debit/credit card, giving patients full control of their accounts. With this plan no more paperwork, no more co-pays, no more HMOs.
About the Author
Dr. Maged Taman graduated from the Alexandria Medical School in 1981 in Egypt. He has a Masters degree and PhD in Clinical Physiology. He came to the USA in 1990.
He has two residencies in internal medicine and two fellowships. He is Board certified in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology and Nephrology.
He is in clinical practice now, but is planning to commit more of his time to social justice.
