About the Book

The story begins in Niantic CT, where Katrine Seame grows up in an upper middle class family. Having been humorously tormented with her last name for her whole life, on her 18th birthday she takes it upon herself to legally file for a name change to Kat Seamer. Because of a court judge's annoyance with Kat's attitude her name is purposely changed to Kat Seamen. Which opens the doors for her series of silly humorous misfortunes to begin.

She begins her new career position at Stolenworth's Corporation, in New London CT, where she is befriended by an albino co-worker. Geoff Saddler, who is secretly living in a springboard shed in the woods of his father's home. Then there's the voluptuous Sela who is extremely jealous of Kat, and always competing for the boss' attention. The boss, Ethan, is a bored husband, who has grown obsessed with the fantasy of pursuing Kat. Sela tries desperately to put a stop to it, however Sela and Kat share a past that Sela knows could ultimately destroy their reputations. Kat falls for her co-worker, Liam who is a powerful and controlling womanizer. Just as she realizes she has fallen into Liam's woven web of lies and deceit, a traumatic life threatening event takes over and forces Kat into an unconscious state of intuitive realization.

Excerpt from the Resident, May 5 - May 18, 2004, by Kristen Malinowski:

"The book is a light hearted, fast reading fictional story that will have you laughing until the end. From the very first words of the book, the humor Catherine uses to understand and overcome the realities of the world will have you thinking about issues in your own life."
