About the Author
The author, Kirk Hackenberg, has always enjoyed creating and telling stories to children. In the course of his life he has had many opportunities to do so but until now, none of them were in print.
Hackenberg graduated from the University of Texas as a child psychologist and has worked with emotionally handicapped, mentally impaired, and underprivileged children all over the world. As his concerns for the environment and saving the earth's wildlife became an ambition, he went back to school and graduated with B.S. and M.S. degrees in Environmental Science. An avid supporter of wildlife protection groups and environmental organizations, Mr. Hackenberg has taken an active role in trying to better our planet.
It is a hope that as children read this author's latest collection of animal stories, that they will be a little more aware of the earth and her treasures, and more willing to help protect them.
