About the Author

PETER N ANASSI born at Sironga, Kisii, Kenya is a graduate from the University of Nairobi, Kenya with A Bachelor of Laws Honours degree. He graduated in 1973 and then proceeded to the Kenya School of Law, where he obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. He was consequently admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya to practice law. After a brief stint as a conveyancing Attorney at the City Council of Nairobi, he was appointed Town Clerk and Chief Legal Offi cer of Kisii Municipal Council. He later resigned from the Council and started his own legal practice. Mr. Anassi, who has close to thirty years of legal practice experience, has mainly delved into the area of Property, Family, Criminal and Constitutional Law.

Mr. Anassi is a well-known advocate for social justice and a fierce critic of institutional corruption in Kenya. Mr. Anassi is a practicing Christian and loves the Lord dearly. He is one of the founder members of the Campus Ministries in East Africa. It is the Campus Ministries that took the Gospel to the Universities in East Africa. Mr. Anassi with the help of his colleagues Professor George Agoki and Professor Mutinga mooted the idea of starting The Campus Ministries at the University of Nairobi in 1971-72. With the help of Pastor Henry the then President of the East African Union, the group started the programme at the University of Nairobi. The Ministry was abundantly blessed as more brethren including Dr.Wangai, Pastor Peter Bwana and many others came on board to strengthen the Organization. The Campus Ministries later extended its ministries to cover Makerere University in Uganda and Dar-es-salaam University in Tanzania. The Campus Ministries was later elevated to a full Ministerial Position at the East African Union and it is doing a great job for young people both in Universities, High Schools and Tertiary Institutions. Mr. Anassi is very proud to be associated with this great movement in the Lord's vineyard.

While practicing as a lawyer, he has served his country, Kenya in various other capacities both in Education, Commerce and Industry. Served as University Attorney and Council Member of the University of East Africa Baraton for 15 Years. Served as legal consultant for Strive Foundation, South Africa for two years. He has also served in a number of charitable and Non-Governmental Organizations both in Kenya and outside Kenya. He is widely traveled both within the African Continent, and other Continents. Mr. Anassi is the Author of another book entitled: CORRUPTION IN AFRICA: THE KENYAN EXPERIENCE
