About the Book

Tao Chi Wong is a 27 year old Lieutenant Detective in the San Francisco Police Department, Homocide Division, Chinatown. Fiercely independent, Tao is an often in trouble loner who makes his own rules.

With a troubled past, Tao is headed for a meltdown when, on the trail of a serial killer he is near fatally wounded. This close brush with death serves as the catalyst that returns his determination and desire to live, if for no other reason than to hunt down the man who tried to kill him.

On the other side of the country, Lee Han Wong, Captain of the Chinatown Fire Department in New York City - a quiet, shy, dedicated Paramedic and Fireman - has faced his own near-death during the rescue of a young woman from an arson. Lee finds himself falling for this mysterious Sofia, an artist with a hidden past.

As close as brothers, Lee and Tao were torn apart as children when Tao's parents moved with him to America. When his parents were killed, Tao disappeared into the red tape of Social Services before his family in Hong Kong could find out. Lee had searched for him and hoped after moving to America himself he would find him. Reunited, Lee asks Tao to return to New York with him to recover from his injuries. When they realize their cases have suddenly merged into one and the same, it will take both of them to solve it before the killer gets to one - or both - of them first.

About the Author

Born in Cedar Vale, Kansas, the third of four children, to Billie Jane and George Waggie, Cherie' grew up on ranches, a solitary life for any child. There was plenty of time to develop a vivid imagination, and after the death of her brothers in 1963, left virtually on her own, she spent a lot of time playing in the woods and along the creek banks creating a world all her own.

Always creative and imaginative, a trait inherited from her mother, she began to draw as soon as she could hold a pencil. Her mother also began to teach her to dance before she could walk.

Both parents were avid readers and made family outings to the local library each week. The children were encouraged to read and the love of books and words came naturally.

Cherie' has written since 2000, 13 unrelated novels and various poetry, and works parttime as a columnist for the Turkey Times, a newspaper started and run by her 74 year old mother, which only goes to prove you're never to old to achieve your dreams.

Presently, Cherie' and her mother live in Turley caring for their numerous cats and dogs and each other and pray that they will soon have a home of their own where they can continue to achieve their dreams. Knowing the difficulties of being published, Cherie' also hopes to start her own publishing company, Wan Shen Han Ltd, Twin Tigers Books, to help other new authors get their start.
