About the Book

A brutal saga of unremitting avarice, corruption, violence and murder combined with the callous exploitation of vast numbers of narcotics addicts in Middle East, Europe and USA.

A narrative of organized crime, operated by experts and superabundantly lucrative to the criminal elements involved.

A young man, through greed for wealth, plus a feeble conscience, is lured into this maelstrom of moral degeneration and succumbs to complete self-gratification, gradually becoming one of the leading participants in this vicious system under the willing guidance of his tutors in crime.

The desperate trail meanders from Egypt to Sicily, Corsica and Marseilles, leading to Paris and the ultimate depredation of Europe by the drug cartel.

The fi nal act of this episode opens in Miami, USA.

It is suggested that the moral behind this epic is not that CRIME DOES NOT PAY but rather that it pays to know plenty and to keep your mouth well shut!

About the Author

Dennis Conroy lived at Heliopolis, Cairo for a number of years and learned much about that turbulent Egyptian metropolis and its inhabitants.

The leading characters in "The Cairo Connection" are based on real-life denizens personally acquainted with the author. All locations, street names, restaurants and so on mentioned in the book were geographically correct at that time.

Later, Dennis Conroy worked as a bodyguard on behalf of a major international security organization, during which period he guarded many 'at risk' individuals, some dealing with large amounts of cash in transit.

Subsequently he increased his experience when employed as a security officer in close co-operation with the Criminal Investigation Department of a large police force.

During this period he instigated numerous arrests of wanted criminals, many reacting violently when apprehended.

On one occasion, after a furious street battle with a known thug and his equally forcible girl friend, both Dennis Conroy and his male opponent were hospitalized.

The British Government granted the author a substantial monetary reward as partial compensation for injuries received during this dangerous encounter. The arrested man received a well-deserved prison sentence.

Dennis Conroy is an accomplished pistol shot and has won numerous awards for his successes in competitive pistol shooting.

Currently retired and living on Vancouver Island, Canada, his shooting skills are now a hobby, not a business asset!
