About the Book

After losing his mother at the tender age of eight, Elias' emotional escape has been the sport of wrestling, which has worked well – that is, until he loses the high school state final for the fourth year in a row. Struggling to figure out why he cracks under pressure and overwhelmed by coming so close to something only to barely miss it, leads him to suicidal events. With the help of a careless and not so loyal girlfriend, an aimless trouble-minded best friend and love of a brother, Elias discovers what's been holding him back.

About the Author

Ernie Minera is an actor and standup comic. He is also the writer and director of the short film Stand Up – an official selection for the 2007 Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival and the NewFilmmaker Summer Series in New York City. He is currently working on a feature comedy.
