About the Book

In this fictionalized memoir, growing up on a Wisconsin farm, Marianne gives a detailed version of pioneer farm life during the twenties. Not knowing she was gifted with Extraterrestrial Perception until later in life, she fought her way through many bedeviled incidents, keeping her virginity intact for the man she would one day marry, completely supporting herself with odd jobs from age sixteen on. At eight years old her best friend was killed, and she feels strongly that her friend had become her invisible guardian - having avoided death herself so many times.

After a short love affair that could have tested her marriage, Satan laughed within her mid-section with an ugly gutteral sound, and later in life God's voice (ethereal) coming from every direction left her no doubts that she had a special gift. She was threatened by a serial killer, was held hostage all night in a hotel room, nearly drowned in a whirlpool at Padre Island. Many other incidents that terrified her are disclosed and taken from her real life.

About the Author

A 1920s Wisconsin Farm girl, she went through life being gullible and/or paranoid. A time when all brides in white were virgins. Marriage was never thought to be tested before the vows were exchanged, and this book asks the question, "what price, virginity?"

It is more than just a story, for it has everything good and bad about Marianne's life. There is something in it for everyone. The elderly will enjoy the pioneer life described in the first part of the book, and teens will wonder about scruples today - and may even appreciate their parents much more. There is hope for the hopeless, faith for the faithless and an endless love story against all odds. She fought with the devil and won, but it wasn't easy. World War Two tested her love along with many others. She later met and was threatened by Serial Killer Lucas. Her memory banks are overflowing like the Mississippi River in spring.

Though she has many hobbies, such as gemstone jewelry making, riding, reading and cooking, she wants to leave her family something that money cannot buy. So, she decided to ignore her taste buds and write, which she has had a craving for all her life. At eighty she was offered a job with Country Wide Loans as a Mortgage Broker, but a twelve hour-day behind a desk is not the way she wants to spend the last years of her life.
