About the Book
This did not start out as a manuscript. I was an avid crossword puzzle worker. Then I noticed that many of the celebrities' names were used over and over again. But I couldn't remember their personal history. So I wrote down celebrities names, and their biographies. It didn't take long before I had to put them all in alphabetical order. From there, you guessed it, I quit cross word puzzles, and began my long road (more than ten years), researching celebrities, and their personal history.
The author wishes to thank the publishers of various publications for their thorough celebrity coverage, most notably PEOPLE Magazine, and BIOGRAPHY Magazine, for their fine articles. The author may wrongly record some celebrities as "no longer with us" and vis-a-vis if there are such cases please excuse the error. In a volume of this magnitude there will be mis-prints, and information wrongly recorded. However, it is our desire to bring you this book of celebrity information as flawlessly as possible. The dates recorded herein have been checked from one year to the next for accuracy obtained from several different sources using the date which appeared most often as being correct. In most cases information was recorded from at least two sources before entries were made, and in some cases dual entries were made from several different sources. Information from celebrity tabloids were not used. Only information derived from reliable sources were used.
It is our desire to impress upon the general public that even though the entertainment profession has no set guide lines for becoming an actor (i.e. a mandatory prescribed set of rules, or laws of requirement for entry), they may be a high school dropout, or they may have a criminal record, and become successful, it's still a profession that has more people fail to achieve success in, then most other professions, and only the diligent, and persistent individual who carries his or her cross to the finish line, who becomes a bonified actor.
About the Author
The author wishes to acknowledge that without the constant urging of my family, first in handwriting the script, then typing, and finally learning to use the computer, (the hardest part of all) this work would not have been completed. I especially thank my son, Bob, who tirelessly taught me the use of the P/C and it's software, the untiring constant help from my daughter, Jane and all of my children including: Greg, and Norb. Jr. whose periodic visits kept me on track, and Marge, Sharon, (and Ruth, who bought two cases of printer copy paper), who offered their moral support. I thank them for the computer, which was originally purchased by the combined finances of all of them, and made this all possible.
I'd be remiss if I didn't include in my outside help, that of my faith in God, who's guiding hand was ever present, making it all now seem to have been so easy. My loving memories with my wife Phyllis, in raising our family, all of whom we are very proud. Those years of struggle putting food and clothing, and God in their hearts and lives, all has been so rewarding to us, they have indeed made life worth living.
