About the Book
Addiction In Context conveys the simple yet profound message that there is a different way of looking at addiction; as a phenomenon that occurs within the context of culture. It examines the swings of the pendulum of cultural attitudes towards addiction, assesses the prevalence of and encouragements to addiction, considers spirit, mind, and body factors involved in sustaining and overcoming addiction, and promotes going beyond the customary univision of perception with which we tend to view ourselves, the world, reality, and thereby, addiction.
